Assistance Available: | Georgia Cities Foundation Downtown
Development Revolving Loan Fund (DD RLF) | The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA)
and the have low interest loans available for property acquisition, and renovation and rehabilitation projects. The Downtown
Development Revolving Loan Fund (DD RLF) and the Georgia Cities Foundation revolving loan program offer low interest loans
(3%) for short terms (10-15 years) for up to $250,000 each. Download Georgia Cities Application Here Download DDRLF Application Here | | | Applicants for the DD RLF and Georgia Cities loans must demonstrate that they have a
viable downtown development project and clearly identify the uses of the loan proceeds. | | | Once
approved, the funds may be used for such activities as - Real estate acquisition, development, redevelopment and

| Through a partnership with the University
of Georgia’s School of Design and the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, downtown property or business owners
may request design assistance through the DCA. A detailed rendering will be produced at a cost of $75 - $100 depending on
detail, and will include suggestions for materials, colors and methods. More info here | | Business Assistance | Many resources and technical assistance are available
to downtown businesses through the DCA. Assistance with marketing, promotions, business planning, management, workforce and
staffing needs all may be addressed by calling the DCA. | | Site /Building Location Assistance | The
DCA maintains a complete inventory of all properties and owners in the downtown district. The DCA's listing includes potential
tenants, purchasers, as well as occupied buildings that may still be for sale. We are always ready to help locate a suitable

starting a new business, rehabilitating a building, or just installing a sign can be overwhelming. DCA staff can help business

Historic Property Tax Abatement
| The owner of a building that qualifies for listing on the Georgia
Register of Historic Places and has undergone a major rehabilitation may obtain preferential property tax treatment. Call
the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources at 404-651-5566. Georgia Historic Preservation Website | Federal Tax Credit Program
| If a property is listed on the National Register,
the owner or long-term lessee of an income-producing property is entitled to an investment tax credit of up to 20% of the
qualified rehabilitation expenses of a substantial, qualified rehab. Call the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources at 404-651-5566. Georgia Historic Preservation Website | | DCA Façade Grant | The DCA provide a facade grant program
to encourage the preservation and upkeep of downtown storefronts. Approved projects, once they are completed in compliance
with the requirements, are reimbursed for one-third (up to $1,000) of total project cost with a minimum $1,500 project expenditure. |
